Joined by longtime sparring partner Jan Hammer, Beck kicks the album off with Hammer’s "Star Cycle". Most of the songs are almost Sci-Fi instrumental rock tunes with subtle hints of jazz and blues. Then you have the more rocking instrumentals such as "The Pump" or "The Golden Road". The closing track “The Final Peace” was far ahead of its time (1980) with virtuoso guitarwork as we know it today from Joe Satriani, Jason Becker and Steve Vai.
