Motörhead kdysi definovali základní prvky speed metalu a thrash metalu a dodnes nepochybně stále patří k nejpopulárnějším hardrockovým a heavymetalovým kapelám a rovněž bývají označováni jako „Nejhlasitější kapela na světě“.
Album „No Sleep ‚til Hammersmith“ završilo pro Motorhead veleúspěšný rok 1981. Singl „Ace Of Spades“ vyšplhal na čtvrtou příčku britské hitparády, alba „Overkill“ a „Bomber“ se těšila přízni publika i novinářů, a kapela byla na turné po Velké Británii, kdy během pouhých 34 dnů odehrála 32 koncertů, z čehož pramení název alba, který mu kapela dala podle nápisu na jednom z tour-busů. Toto album je jediným, kterým Motorhead dobyli samý vrchol britské hitparády. Album nyní vychází ve speciální rozšířené reedici.
